A Celebration of Life, and ringing in O8

Hi all,

I know I don't post too often, but I felt impressed to mention a special woman in my life. Her Name was Debra Glass, she was a vivacious red-headed straight shooter, and a saint all in one. She was Mommy number 2 for me, and mother to my best friend of many years Adrie Glass. She celebrated her new spiritual life on December 15th, 2007 after a long battle with cancer. The point of this post isn't to make anyone sad or have feeling of sympathy for me or the family, but to fill you in on a special life lesson I learned as I sat with her, holding her hand as her body slowly faded. That lesson was to cherish everyday with those who fill your lives with joy, love and laughter. I had all of that this past week. At the same time of welcoming my new nephew Brody Alexander into the world, I was priviledged to be there as this beautiful woman was welcomed into glory. I had a wide spectrum of emotions, I laughed, cried, felt happiness and sorrow, but the important thing I learned was that family and friends next to serving our Lord, is the only important thing to keep focus on. I have felt stress with planning the wedding and work, and numerous other life activities, but this milestone event of experiencing life and earthly death in the same week was the most amazing experience I've ever had, and for that I am truly grateful. Kat and I will be flying out to Atlanta on December 27th, and returning after the New Year on the 2nd. I will be singing a special gospel song titled "Redeemer" by Nicole C. Mullen for a Memorial celebration dedicated to momma 2, Debra Glass. My best friend Adrie will be speaking at the memorial, and the rest of us family and friends will be lucky enough to be surrounded by Atlanta's most precious botanicals. To top off our little excursion, we will be able to celebrate the 2008 New Year while celebrating Adrie's 28th birthday! Kat will also complete her task of meeting the final members of my immediate family from the dirrty GA (lol)! So I leave this post with you for my final one for 2007, and I would like to say to any and all who read this, I hope 08' brings you peace, happiness, prosperity, love, and family...Love Bobby

Breathe.

I need a minute to breathe. Seriously.

Life has been so crazy and has thrown Bobby and I through so many twists and turns. I know there's 1,000 things left to do for the wedding, but it all seems not even close to as important as it was before.

Not that I don't want to get married! I am still so excited to start my life together with Bobby, but life is so crazy right now that it's on the backburner.

I am meeting with the florist again today. Trying to get the price down as much as possible. Wish me luck! :)

IT'S A BOY!

This is Brody Alexander Naranjo-Morgan. Tracy's baby boy! He was born on December 11th at 12:56am weighing in at 7 lbs. 7 ozs.

He is ADORABLE! After no sleep, and a lot of pushing on Tracy's part, Bobby and I have a nephew!

HE IS SO CUTE!

Foggy and yucky

So the other day it was 71 degrees...today it is so foggy I cannot even see the mountains and it's cold. Like 28 degrees cold. BOOO!

Tracy is having her baby on Monday. This is all so crazy! So many life changing things are taking place, and I cannot even keep up.

(Oh my birthday is next Friday, too. Send gifts :) )

I've been looking up honeymoon stuff, but I figure we really need to get everything else done first. I just want to be laying on a beach! :)

The weather...

So it was 71 degress yesterday. Yeah, I said it - 71 degrees on December 4th!

So that got me to thinking...since Bobby and I are getting married in February, what's the weather going to be like? We have so many people coming in from out of town I'm just really hoping for no snow, or minimal snow. Cold is ok, but too much snow you cannot drive is BAD.

I looked it up, and last year here's what it was like on that date:

High Temperature: 53°F
Low Temperature 26°F
Precipitation 0.00 in / 0.00 cm

Let's hope it's like 2007! That would be perfect!!!

Trees and Puppies...

So the wedding planning is going along great. Slow, but great. We bought a tree on the day after Thanksgiving, in the craziness! Bobby was not happy at ALL about shopping during the insanity that day, but he likes our tree! I smile everytime I turn on the lights...and he thinks I'm a total dork for that!

Today we're going to meet with a florist (we are really exploring our options before we make a final decision). Then I think we're going to hit the mall for some window shopping.

BOBBY's THOUGHT OF THE WEEK! (with special Guest Maddox)

When planning a wedding, you must be prepared for all those hidden "oops I forgot that" costs. So come to the table with your A-Game ready to take care of business! See picture below for example:

This is Maddox. He's Bobby and I's puppy and is 5 months old. He is staying with his daddy (Bobby) until we get married. He's growing so fast!

Three Months!

This is getting so exciting! The Thanksgiving holiday is over, and Bobby and I just relized the other day that we only have less than 3 months to go! This is insane!

There is WAY too much to do. We're making the decisions on flowers, invites and cakes now. I feel like the list of things never ends. I mean...this wedding planning thing is a FULL-TIME job!

I just need to keep focused on what's important and everything will be ok. I keep losing that and it stresses me out. I mean...I plan events and juggle 10,000 things all day long, but it's so different when it's your money and your big day.

Any advice? Bobby may kill me before the wedding if it don't chill :) Just kidding. I think he secretly loves it!

Busy, Busy!

Life has been so crazy lately, there has been no time to post in here!

Bobby and I are still truckin' along, trying to get everything done. All the little things are going to end up making me insane!

We are putting the final touches on invitations and flowers, then we have to order favors, get a guestbook, finalize the guest list, get chair covers, and omg...too much more!

Back to work, just wanted to give you a little update! Happy Thanksgiving!

Bobby's thought of the Week

Hi all! It's Bobby...Kat has been doing most of the posting for the wedding stuff, and I have to tell ya...it's hard NOT to click on the dress picture. I can't wait to see her walk down the isle! I keep telling everyone I won't cry, but more than likely I'm gonna be ballin' like Michael Jordan! Anyway...Just wanted to kinda throw out my 2-cents, so here it is: When planning a wedding, stay hydrated, eat a good amount of fiber, and get plenty of rest..this way when your fiance tells you your gonna have to spend another grand the shock won't be so jarring!

The place, the DJ & THE DRESS!

Bobby and I will be getting married on February 23rd, 2008 at Phantom Canyon downtown on the 3rd floor. This place is BEAUTIFUL!

Here's a generic photo of the place, but we'll have chair covers, and a black and white theme!

By the way...if you know of a good place to get chair covers, send me an e-mail at kat@989magicfm.com.

Over the weekend, my Maid of Honor, Shannon, along with one of my bridesmaids, Tracy, found THE DRESS!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It is SO pretty on. I will try and take a photo of it when we go back to Mister Neats and try it on again so I can match a vail. I love the ladies there, by the way. We had such a blast trying things on!

We also found the Bridesmaid Dresses...

Since the theme is black and white, we went with just an elegant black dress. I am so excited to see Shannon, Andrea, Ashleigh, Tracy & Adrie wearing this dress!

And also, found a great DJ! Bobby (not my fiance, the DJ), from Sensational Sounds will take good care of you. Click the logo below for more information.

Four months to go! This is going to be so exciting!

More to come soon...

The wedding is ON!

Bobby, my wonderful fiance, asked me to marry him on August 12th! Of course I said YES and now we're planning our wedding!

We had photos taken at the Broadmoor in September:

Aren't we cute??? I'll post more as soon as I can scan them. Evie at My Images of Life did them for us and we are so happy with the way they turned out!
